Students sit with their food donations

Food Distribution Continues

We continue to support the community with food distributions to the most vulnerable families, who are unable to work or generate any income. We have allocated over $10,000 to food donations and we anticipate that this need will continue.

If you would like to assist us in continuing our food distribution program, please send your tax-deductible donation to: Spitler School Foundation, 14662 N. 15th Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85023, OR click the donation button below to donate using our PayPal portal.

#DidYouKnow

56% of our primary school students are female, and in our middle school, 54% of our students are female.  Compare this to Cambodia’s national average of 46% of females enrolled in school.

Roller Coaster of a Year

Our schools experienced a roller coaster of a time in 2020: closed, open, closed, open with limited students, and now closed again. Yet, the students and staff never gave up! And neither did you with your continued donations! The school year which normally ends in August was extended to mid-December and the new academic year began in early January. We celebrated a late graduation on New Year’s Eve with 110 students graduating from 6th grade. We extend our heartfelt thanks to many donors, and especially Wei Ling Tan and her friends, for helping all these graduates with a new bicycle, new uniforms, and school supplies. These gifts enable all our Spitler and Kurata School graduates to attend Stephen Mazujian Middle School and continue their education.

While we are happy that we have yet to receive any report about our students or staff contracting the coronavirus, Cambodia’s numbers are starting to increase. Because of this, the government has closed the schools again. As always, we will wait and hope to safely return to our campuses soon.
