There is nothing like graduation ceremonies to fill the village of Ang Chang with excitement and pride. Last week Spitler School celebrated its 8th and largest graduating class. Over 100 students from Spitler School and our sister school, Kurata, were honored for their 6 years of academic achievement.
As has been our tradition since the first graduating class in 2010, each graduate received a new bicycle, a school uniform, a pair of shoes, and school supplies – the basic necessities for continuing their education at Stephen Mazujian Middle School.
Providing these gifts to our graduates has become a large expense as our graduating classes have expanded each year. We are extremely grateful to the major donors who provided the bulk of the funding for this year’s graduating class.
The Stiftung Liskamm Foundation
Students at Florida International University
Khmer Education Fund
Other Individual Donors
We are thankful for another successful year at Spitler School. So many deserving children are receiving an education that might otherwise be unavailable to them if not for the great work of our leader, Chea Sarin, a terrific staff, and the caring generosity of our many donors.
