Our dedicated partner organization, Kids Play International (KPI) recently held a Play Fair Workshop with the goal of teaching families to create more gender equitable homes for their children. The workshop implemented fun, interactive activities, including partner water balloon tosses which practiced asking for and receiving consent, and games that required the parents to strategize rules to make them more equitable for everyone.
Through these games, and deep discussions throughout the workshop, the parents were able to create “household” gender equity rules that create fair opportunities for both their sons and daughters. Over 45 parents participated in the workshop, demonstrating their loyalty to their children and recognizing the importance of fair play, even at home.
